FACES OF HOPE, MERIDIAN IDAHO

It's no secret to those who have known me these last couple of years, that I have experienced Domestic Violence first hand. One evening, in a matter of minutes, my seemingly happy marriage ended with me being thrown 16' across my living room. Those few minutes and the months that followed were traumatic, confusing and exhausting. Every day presented a new challenge or a new twist. Decision making was difficult. Just getting by every day was often all I could manage. Fortunately, I had a vast support system that propped me up and held me through. But far too many in this situation do not have that support system and have no idea where to turn when they need help the most. 

I openly share my story to many in our community, in hopes of reaching others to let them know they are not alone, and to help them gain the confidence and knowledge they need to leave and recover. Domestic Violence is a topic that not many want to talk about, but the more we discuss it as individuals and as a community, the more we can stand against it. Educating yourself on the signs of Domestic Violence, can truly save a life. As a Supporter of Faces of Hope and one who speaks Hope to others daily, this allows me to further my personal reach into our local community and be one of the few to help prop up and hold through those who need it.
